“The Ring” I refer to is the (allegorical) “One ring to rule them all” in J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic novel, Lord Of The Rings. I’m sure many of you will know where I’m going with this. But if you’ll indulge me- and for the sake of those who may not be in the LOTR Fan Club, I’ll present my case.

Out of the greatest respect for Tolkien, I will acknowledge that he “cordially dislike[d] allegory in all its manifestations”. But he did concede that readers may find meaning in his work that he didn’t consciously intend. That resolved, it’s fair to say that a large portion of those readers have indeed “read into” the story that the Ring represents absolute power, which as Lord Acton observed, “corrupts absolutely”. History is replete with evidence. From antiquity, monarchies and dictatorships have demonstrated this axiom without fail. The inherent nature of Communism to centralize and concentrate authority has also proven the point irrefutably.
So it was in Tolkien’s tale, when the hero, Isildur cuts the One Ring of power from the evil Sauron’s hand. His mission was to unmake the ring by throwing it into the fires of Mount Doom, thus saving Middle Earth from Sauron’s domination. Instead of destroying it however, he becomes consumed by the ring’s power and keeps it for himself, justified by claiming it could be used to defeat other evils, for the good of all.
In the real, data-driven world of today, pundits and intellectuals argue that Governments’ use of AI-powered systems like Palantir pose the same threat. Some have referred to it as the world’s most evil company.1 And the moniker “Palantir” will not be lost on LOTR readers. It was a magical “seeing stone”, or crystal ball used by kings and leaders for communications and intelligence-gathering in distant locations.2 (Do you ever get the feeling that the world’s elites are all cos-players trying to act out LOTR in the real world?) This kind of technology is a danger to civil liberties because it is invisible. And because it goes unseen, its potential for abuse makes it a certainty that it will be abused. As long as Government’s lust for power continues unabated, so will our loss of freedoms.
However, I would make the case that Palantir is not the “gold ring” itself, but an armored car that carries the gold. It is the information carried through these systems that has the power to destroy. Which brings us to our protagonist Donald Trump and the enemy Jeffrey Epstein, who forged a ring of the most terrible power imaginable. If the allegations are true, Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring would hold unspeakable power, because the alleged crimes against children are so unspeakable.
Despite Hollywood and Mainstream media persecution, Trump managed a second win with more votes than he got in the first election. He vowed accountability during his campaign, and this was a key issue that garnered him votes. He won, in part because he has been unafraid to say the quiet things out loud, including suspicion that Jeffrey Epstein did not kill himself.
I won’t re-hash the years of scandal surrounding Epstein, Ghislane Maxwell and the elites who may or may not have been compromised by them. We have decades of accusations. What we need now is disclosure. US AG Pam Bondi has said publicly that the FBI withheld ‘thousands of pages’ of evidence from the investigation into the convicted sex offender and pedophile.3Whistleblowers and investigators have provided enough evidence that a full and transparent investigation is warranted. Trump himself has previously alluded that he believes there’s more to the Epstein story.4 As PJ Media has reported, “Trump made it clear on the campaign trail: he wants the truth exposed, and so does the MAGA movement.”
And now, right as Epstein’s co-conspirator Ghislane Maxwell is ready to testify in court, Trump Triples Down, Slams his ‘Weakling PAST Supporters Who Believe Epstein Hoax’5
Why this astonishing reversal?
At the moment we can only speculate. And most Americans are speculating that the Trump Administration is hiding something.6
Until the recent backlash, Trump has enjoyed the overwhelming support of average Americans who are fed-up with bloated, unaccountable government He’s also endured the ire of the elites. Though these enemies may be fewer, they are powerful, better coordinated and well-funded.
If Maxwell were to reveal a “client list” naming any of these elites, then such a list would be very dangerous indeed. Exposing it to the light of day may or may not ever lead to convictions, if the Hillary Clinton email investigation was any indication of the likely outcome. But it would be rendered obsolete. Invisibility is what keeps it powerful and dangerous.
Until we get we get answers, we’re only left with questions. Here are mine: Could it be that he’s now wielding the One Ring against his enemies, for “the greater good”? Could this be Trump’s Isildur moment?
